Lisa J. Spera

National Trainer and Coach


Lisa J. Spera, MS, is a National Trainer and Coach at Innovations Institute, University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Bringing over 25 years of experience in child-serving systems, Lisa supports children’s behavioral health workforce development efforts across the country in juvenile justice, mental health, education, and child welfare settings. She develops, adjusts, and delivers individualized and impactful training and coaching experiences that drive the uptake of quality and fidelity practices. Lisa’s work is currently targeted to implementation of the FOCUS intermediate care coordination model. Her passions center around meaningful engagement with children and families, trauma-informed approaches, lifelong learning, performance arts, and cultural humility. Lisa holds an MS in Counseling from McDaniel College in Westminster Maryland. She also holds a BA in Education and a BA in Psychology/Behavior Science from Bethany College, Bethany, WV.
