What it Takes to Make a Difference (Hint: It's not a training workshop)

Lise Fox, PhD, co-developer of the Pyramid Model, Lead Researcher for the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations, and Professor and Chair in the Department of Child and Family Studies at the University of South Florida, will kick off the conference with an inspiring and thought-provoking keynote! Dr. Fox will dive into the essential elements that empower communities, programs, and practitioners to create lasting, meaningful change. Her talk, followed by a Q&A with the audience, will explore how to build genuine capacity and foster a program climate that supports practitioners, families, and children. Come ready to engage, reflect, and imagine what's possible when we work together to make a difference!

Dr. Fox is a nationally-recognized leader in interventions related to young children and challenging behavior and the author of many articles, chapters, and books related to improving practices and programs for young children.

Connecting, Comforting & Inspiring Our Youngest Children: Insights from Sesame Workshop

Join Jeanette Betancourt, EdD, Senior Vice President of U.S. Social Impact at Sesame Workshop, as she shares insights from her decades of experience designing initiatives for educators and families. Deeply rooted in Sesame Street's knowledge of child development and engagement using a research-based model and storytelling, Sesame Workshop meets young children's most pressing needs along with the support necessary for the caring adults in their lives and the variety of systems that form their circle of care. Attendees will discover numerous free and easily accessible resources that nourish children's emotional, physical, and digital well-being, and help children address challenging issues, all while highlighting routines and a sense of joy. Discover how to be "Sesametized" through resources like the iconic Muppets through which Sesame Workshop is prioritizing prevention versus intervention through a lens of hope and resilience.

Dr. Betancourt directs development and implementation of community and family engagement initiatives at Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street. She is a bilingual speech and language pathologist and educational therapist, an expert in special education, and previously worked creating programs in adult learning and early childhood education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
